Navigate your Workspace in ClickUp 4.0
In ClickUp 4.0, you'll navigate your Workspace using these sidebars:
- Global Navigation: Open the communication, collaboration, and organizational features you have access to.

Home Sidebar: Access your notifications, tasks, conversations, and favorite items.
- My Tasks (formerly Home): My Tasks is your personalized hub to start your day, prioritize your work, and plan what's most important. My Tasks is in the Home Sidebar.
- Global Navigation and Home Sidebar feature availability varies depending on user role. Learn more
- Spaces Sidebar: Focus on the Workspace Hierarchy. Members, admins, and owners see all public Spaces, Folders, Lists, tasks, and items, while guests and limited members see a Shared with Me section. All Hierarchy locations and items you have access to are in the Shared with Me section.
- The toolbar: Use the toolbar at the top of your Workspace to search your Workspace, create items, and access your settings.
- Views Bar: Use the Views Bar at the top of any Space, Folder, or List to organize how you view your tasks.
- AI Command Bar: Search for items, like Docs and Whiteboards, Chat messages, and more.
- Home and Spaces Sidebar settings: Learn how to open, close, and search these Sidebars. The ability to create items depends on your user role and permissions.
- Inbox: Access your notifications that match your notification settings.

See the items that were shared with you
To open the items shared with you:
- Find the Shared with me section.
- In ClickUp 4.0, this is located in the Spaces Sidebar.
- In ClickUp 3.0, this is located in the Sidebar.
- Expand a Folder to see a List. Click a List to see tasks.
- It is possible to have a List without a Folder.
- Select the item.

- AI Command Bar: Search for items, like Docs and Whiteboards, Chat messages, and more.
- Spaces settings: You have access to the Show all Spaces and Show archived settings.
- Home: Use the features available in Home to manage your work.
- Inbox: Access your notifications that match your notification settings.
- Goals: See the Goals you've been invited to view or edit.
- Favorites: Use and pin your favorites.
- Dashboards Hub: See the Dashboards that have been shared with you.
- Docs Hub: See the Docs that have been shared with you.
- Whiteboards Hub: See the Whiteboards that have been shared with you.
Use Workspace and account settings
Workspace and account settings can be affected by custom permissions.
As a guest, you can access the following Workspace and account settings:
From the Workspace settings:
- App Center: Guests can view the App Center, but only Workspace owners, admins, and members can connect apps.
- Template Center: Guests only have access to templates for Docs, tasks, views, checklists, and Whiteboards. Guests with edit or full permissions can access the Template Center from items that have been shared with them.
From your personal settings:
- Themes: The theme color will apply to every Workspace you've created or joined. Workspace color themes are used throughout ClickUp. You can also switch from Light Mode to Dark Mode.
- Settings: Change your email address, reset your password, enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), and set your language, date, timezone, and other user experience preferences for your user account.
- Notification settings: Choose what you want to be notified about and where to receive each type of notification.
- Keyboard Shortcuts: Hotkeys and keyboard shortcuts are available throughout your Workspace.
- Download apps: Download the ClickUp desktop app, mobile, and access ClickUp features from outside apps.
- Help: Access the ClickUp Help Center.
- Trash: Guests can only see and restore items they've deleted. Guests can't permanently delete items or empty the Trash.
