What is the Spaces Sidebar?

Open the Spaces Sidebar to focus on your Workspace Hierarchy locations and items. 

Using ClickUp 3.0? Spaces, Folders, and Lists can be accessed from the Sidebar.

Feature availability and limits vary by plan and user role. Learn more about Space, Folder, and List availability and limits.

Open the Spaces Sidebar

If you don't want to pin the Spaces Sidebar to your Global Navigation, use the default Home Sidebar Spaces section instead!

The Spaces tab is not pinned to your Global Navigation by default. 

To pin the Spaces Sidebar: 

  1. In your Global Navigation, click More.
  2. In the More menu, click the pin icon above Spaces.
  3. The Spaces Sidebar is now pinned to your Global Navigation.
  • To open it, click the Spaces icon.

Search the Spaces Sidebar

Search for items from the Spaces Sidebar. 

Hide or reorder Spaces

Customize your Spaces Sidebar by hiding or reordering Spaces.

Create Lists, tasks, Docs, and more from the Spaces Sidebar!

Browse the Hierarchy

The Hierarchy is the key to organizing and managing all of your work in one place! 

Settings for all of these items can also be accessed from the Spaces section in the Home Sidebar.

Browse these Hierarchy locations and items from the Spaces Sidebar:

Shared with me

See all the locations and items that have been individually shared with you. 

Guests and limited-member types only see the Shared with me section of the Spaces Sidebar.

Spaces

Hover over the Space to expand it and see Folders, Docs, Forms, Whiteboards, and Folderless Lists.

Lists that are not in a Folder display alone under Spaces.

 Access Space settings.
Folders Hover over the Folder to expand it and see Lists. Access Folder settings.
Lists Click to open the List to see its tasks as a view. Access List settings.
Docs created in the Hierarchy Create a Doc from a Space or Folder. Access a limited Doc settings menu from the Spaces Sidebar.
Dashboards created in the Hierarchy Create a Dashboard from a Space or Folder.  Access the Dashboard settings from the Spaces Sidebar.
Whiteboards created in the Hierarchy Create a Whiteboard from a Space or Folder. Access the Whiteboards settings from the Spaces Sidebar.
Forms created in the Hierarchy Create a Form from a Space or Folder. Access the Forms settings from the Spaces Sidebar.

Docs, Dashboards, Whiteboards, and Forms created in Lists are added to the List's Views Bar.

Open or close the Spaces Sidebar

Adjust the Spaces Sidebar's visibility by opening or closing it.
