• ClickUp AI is available for purchase on all paid plans.
  • We ensure optimal performance and fair use for all of our customers. Your access to ClickUp AI may be reduced depending on usage.
• Free Forever plans can’t purchase AI.
• All plans can access our free AI trial. Free trial usage varies by plan:
  • Free Forever: 25 uses
  • Unlimited and Business: 50 uses
  • Business Plus and Enterprise: 100 uses
• Members and internal guests can use AI. You’ll be charged $5 per member and internal guest per month.
  • External guests can’t use ClickUp AI.
• ClickUp AI is not available for HIPAA-compliant Workspaces.
• ClickUp AI is not available in the following countries:
  • China
  • Cuba
  • Hong Kong
  • Iran
  • North Korea
  • Russia
  • Syria

Prompt ClickUp AI effectively

You can prompt AI using AI Tools or Write with AI. To most effectively prompt AI:

• Use ClickUp AI Tools to find ready-to-use role-specific prompts.
• Select a tone of voice and level of creativity appropriate for the content when using AI Tools.
• When using Write with AI, begin with a clear, concise question or statement. If necessary, specify a format, such as list, directions, or blog post.
  • For example, using the prompt Top 10 electric cars with Write with AI generates a list. If you'd like a blog post, you can write Blog post about the top 10 electric cars. 
• Try rephrasing your prompt or asking follow-up questions to clarify the generated content.
  • For example, AI generated a list of the top 10 electric cars in the US. If you want your post to reflect worldwide popularity and sales you can type, Top 10 electric cars worldwide into the Tell AI what to do next field.
    
• Try editing the content generated by AI.

Accessing AI differs depending on location.

You can access ClickUp AI in the following locations:

Use AI tools

We've created over 100 tools that use prompts tailored to specific roles, and we continue to add more! The AI Tools modal is arranged by department. Each department contains research-based prompts used by people working in that field.

AI Tools can be used in Task descriptions and comments, Docs, Notepad, Chat view, and Chat view Dashboard cards. Here are a few examples of how AI Tools can help:

Write with AI is a tool that allows you to enter custom prompts. Use AI to write about anything!

After you've generated content, you have options to edit the input or reprompt AI.

Edit with AI

You can use AI to edit AI-generated content or to polish up existing content.

Summarize with AI 

Use AI to summarize the content of Docs, task threads and updates, and Inbox comments!

• You can use ClickUp AI to summarize the content of a Doc and insert it as the Doc's subtitle.
  

  

• Summarize the activity taking place in the task description and comments. 
• Summarize task comments from a task and from your Inbox.
• Generate updates that summarize the progress being made on the task. For example, changes in priority or due dates or collaboration happening in the comments.
• Summarize the activity happening within a task. For example, collaboration happening in the comments. 
• On mobile 3.0, use ClickUp AI to summarize comment threads in tasks and Inbox.

Email with AI

Ask AI to help you write or reply to an email from a task. 

Create tasks, Docs, and subtasks

From the toolbar, you can create a task or a Doc containing AI-generated text. From an open task, you can create AI-generated subtasks.

Translate and localize with AI

You can use ClickUp AI to translate so you can localize your content!
