ClickUp AI can help you write

This article is about our writing tools. Here's another way ClickUp AI can help you write:

  1. From any location where you can access AI, at the bottom of the AI modal type a request into the prompt field. For example, you could ask: Can you write a blog post about best practices for prompting AI?
  2. In the lower-right corner of the prompt field, click the send button.
  3. AI will provide a blog post. You can edit AI's draft or ask AI to edit it. For example, you could ask: Create shorter paragraphs, use bullet points, and add subheadings.

Use the /write /Slash Command

  1. From anywhere in ClickUp that uses text, type the /Slash Command /write and press Return or Enter
    • If an AI icon or button displays in the location, select it. For example, a new Doc has a Write with AI button, in an existing Doc you'll use the /Slash Command.
  2. In the Write with AI modal's prompt field you can ask AI to write something.
    • For example: Create a table comparing the top 10 US dog breeds. Include columns for size and energy level.
    • Or you can click Write a description, Create a plan, or Generate action items. The response is based on context from the location.
    • You can click the Default Tone dropdown to select a tone. For example, professional or humorous.
    • You can click the Creativity dropdown to select a level of creativity. Low creativity is probably best for professional writing. High creativity will add extra flair and might be good for a blog post.
    • You can also paste a draft into the modal, ask AI to edit it, and press Return or Enter or click the send icon.
