Autofill task properties with ClickUp AI

Save time by using ClickUp AI to determine task assignees and Priorities with prompts you provide.

Assign tasks with AI Assign

Automatically assign tasks using AI Assign. You can set up AI Assign from the Assignee column or Autopilot Agents.

From the Assignee column

To set up AI Assign from the Assignee column:

  1. Open a Space, Folder, or List. AI Assign applies to all tasks in the location you select.
  2. Open a List view or Table view.
  3. Click the Assignee column header.

  4. Select Set up fill with AI.
  5. Add prompts for each person by clicking Add prompt. You can use field variables like Task ID and Task Name in your prompts.
    • To have ClickUp AI recommend prompts, click Suggest prompts.
    • Optional: To see more people, click Add people. To hide someone, hover over their name and click the delete icon.

  6. By default, all existing tasks in the Space, Folder, or List will be assigned. To automatically assign new tasks you create, activate the Autofill when tasks are created toggle in the Automations section.
  7. By default, only tasks without assignees will be assigned. To reassign tasks that already have assignees using AI, deactivate the Autofill unassigned tasks toggle in the Automations section.
  8. Generate the results:
    • To update all task assignees in the List using your prompts, click Save & Generate.
    • To test AI Assign on the first three tasks in your view using your prompts, click Try in view.

From Autopilot Agents

To set up AI Assign from Autopilot Agents:

  1. Open a Space, Folder, or List. AI Assign applies to all tasks in the location you select.
  2. Open a List view or Table view.
  3. In the upper-right corner, click the Autopilot Agents icon.
  4. Under AI Project Manager, activate Assignee.
  5. Add prompts for each person by clicking Add prompt. You can use field variables like Task ID and Task Name in your prompts.
    • To have ClickUp AI recommend prompts, click Suggest prompts.
    • Optional: To see more people, click Add people. To hide someone, hover over their name and click the delete icon.
  6. By default, both existing and newly created tasks in the Space, Folder, or List will be assigned. If you don't want new tasks to be assigned, deactivate the Autofill when tasks are created toggle in the Automations section.
  7. By default, only tasks without assignees will be assigned. To reassign tasks that already have assignees using AI, deactivate the Autofill unassigned tasks toggle in the Automations section.
  8. Generate the results:
    • To update all task assignees in the List using your prompts, click Save & Generate.
    • To test AI Assign on the first three tasks in your view using your prompts, click Try in view.

Prioritize tasks with AI Prioritize

Automatically prioritize tasks using AI Prioritize. Set up AI Prioritize from the Priority column or Autopilot Agents.

From the Priority column

Automatically set task Priorities with AI Prioritize:

  1. Open a Space, Folder, or List. AI Prioritize applies to all tasks in the location you select.
  2. Open a List view or Table view.
  3. Click the Priority column header.

  4. Select Set up fill with AI.
  5. Add prompts for each Priority level by clicking Add prompt. You can use field variables like Task Description and Assignee in your prompts!
    • Optional: To have ClickUp AI recommend prompts, click Suggest prompts.
