Location-based Channels
Location-based Channels function differently from the rest of your Channels.
Location-based Channels display their location in the upper-left corner.
When changes are made to a location-based Channel, the associated Space, Folder, or List is also updated. Inversely, when changes are made to a Space, Folder, or List, the associated Channel is updated.
Each Space, Folder, and List in your Workspace can only have one Channel associated with it.
The following actions update both location-based Channels and their Hierarchy locations:
- Adding people to a Channel will also add them to the Space, Folder, or List and give them access to everything that's public at that location. When a Channel's sharing and permissions are updated, their related Space, Folder, or List sharing and permissions are also updated.
- Making a Channel private will also make the Space, Folder, or List private.
- Renaming a Space, Folder, or List will also rename the Channel.
- Deleting a Space, Folder, or List will also delete its Channel and all messages in it.
Limited members and limited members view only can request full edit permissions for locations that have been shared with them.
Create a location-based Channel
You can create a location-based Channel and a location for it simultaneously while creating a new Channel by selecting the Add a List toggle.

In ClickUp 3.0, a Channel is automatically created for each location in your Workspace. These Channels have the same names as their locations.
