Allow requests for full edit permissions

Limited members and limited members view only can request full edit permissions for locations that have been shared with them. Members can request full edit permissions for their restricted-access locations. Approving or ignoring the requests is up to you!

The limited member user role types are slowly being released to every Workspace. Owners and admins will receive an email before these roles are activated in their Workspace. The request full edit feature is also being released gradually.

Access by Hierarchy level

Edit or full edit permissions can be given for Spaces, Folders, Lists, tasks, and Chats.

When requests for edit permissions for a Space, Folder, or List are approved the requester gains permissions to all items in that location. 

Limited members and limited members view only can participate in Chat, regardless of their permissions or access to the Chat's location. If they try to create a task with AI or manually, the Request edit access modal displays so they can request edit access.

Request edit permissions

This feature is available limited limited members view only, limited members, and members on all paid plans.

When these user roles are in a Workspace location they have view only or comment permissions a banner displays. They can click the Request edit access button. The location owner recieves the request notification in their Inbox and email.  

Approve or ignore the request

When the location owner receives the request notification, they can approve or ignore it. Full edit permissions are given by default. The location owner can also select Edit or Comment permissions. 

When the request is approved, the requester receives a notification in their Inbox and email with a link to the location.

Request expiration

Requests are valid for 14 days. After 14 days the request is canceled and a new request can be submitted. Limited members cannot send a new request while one is still pending.
