You can make a Channel private from the Chat sidebar, the Channel header, and the details sidebar.

Location-based Channels cannot be made private. Their privacy is determined by their Hierarchy location.

Make a Channel private from the Chat sidebar

To make a Channel private from the Chat sidebar:

1. In the Channels section, right-click the Channel.
2. Select Make Private.
   
3. To confirm, click Make private.
4. Search for and select people you'd like to have access to the Channel.
5. Select Add. If you don't want to add anyone, click Skip.

Make a Channel private from its header

To make a Channel private from its header:

1. Open the Channel.
2. At the top, hover over the Channel name.
3. Click the ellipsis ... menu.
4. Select Make Private.
5. To confirm, click Make private.
6. Search for and select people you'd like to have access to the Channel.
7. Select Add. If you don't want to add anyone, click Skip.

Make a Channel private from the details sidebar

To make a Channel private from the details sidebar:

1. Open the Channel.
2. In the upper-right corner, click the sidebar icon.
3. In the details sidebar, scroll down and select Make Private.
4. To confirm, click Make private.
5. Search for and select people you'd like to have access to the Channel.
6. Select Add. If you don't want to add anyone, click Skip.
