You can open and follow Channels from Launchpad, the Chat sidebar, Spaces, Folders, and Lists.

Channels you don't follow are italicized in the Chat sidebar.

Open a Channel from Launchpad

To open a Channel from Launchpad:

1. In the upper-right corner of the Chat sidebar, click the Launchpad icon.
   
2. Type the name of the Channel.
   • Optional: Click the Channels tab to filter results to only Channels.
3. Select the Channel to open it.
4. To stay updated, click Follow for updates in the upper-right corner.
   • Alternatively, right-click the Channel in the Chat sidebar and select Follow

Open a Channel from the Chat sidebar

To open a Channel from the Chat sidebar:

1. At the bottom of the Channels section, click Add Channel.
2. Type the name of the Channel.
3. Select the Channel to open it.
4. To stay updated, click Follow for updates in the upper-right corner.
   • Alternatively, right-click the Channel in the Chat sidebar and select Follow

Open a Channel from a Space, Folder, or List

You can open location-based Channels from their Hierarchy locations.

To open a Channel from a Space, Folder, or List:

1. Open any view in the Space, Folder, or List.
2. In the upper-right corner, click the Chat icon.
3. The Channel will open in a sidebar on the right.
4. To stay updated, click the Follow icon above your draft or the notification bell icon at the top.
   • Alternatively, right-click the Channel in the Chat sidebar and select Follow
