What are Channel Followers?

Anyone interested in a Channel's updates can be a Follower.

Access Channels you follow in ClickUp 4.0

When you follow a Channel in ClickUp 4.0, it will be displayed in your Home Sidebar and the Chat Sidebar.

Access Channels you follow in ClickUp 3.0

When you follow a Channel in ClickUp 3.0, it will be displayed in Chat's sidebar.

Identify unread messages

If the Channel contains messages you haven't read, the Channel name will display in bold.

If a thread you're involved in has an unread message, you'll see the thread icon to the right of the Channel name.

The number of your unread @mentions in a Channel are displayed to the right of the Channel name.

@mention all Followers

You can @mention all Channel Followers by including @everyone or @followers in your message.

You cannot @mention all Followers in thread replies. 

People who are @mentioned this way will not become Followers of the thread unless they reply or manually choose to follow it.

Remove Channel Followers

To remove a Channel Follower:

  1. Open the Channel.
  2. Hover over the floating sidebar on the right and click Followers or the Followers icon.
  3. In the search bar at the top of the Followers sidebar, type the name of the person you want to remove as a Follower.
  4. Hover over their name and click Unfollow.
