Search your Workspace to find tasks, Docs, Whiteboards, and more.
What you'll need
- Search is available on all ClickUp plans.
- Everyone, including guests, can search for and see items they have permission to access.
Use the Command Center
You can access the Command Center from anywhere in ClickUp:

- Click Search in the toolbar.
When you enable Connected Search, you can also search for files from certain apps!
When using the ClickUp desktop app, you can access the Command Center from anywhere on your computer:

on Mac. - Press
Ctrl + J
on PC.
Whether you're browsing the web, in another application, or on the browser version of ClickUp, the keyboard shortcut will open Command Center in the ClickUp desktop app and start searching.
When searching for tasks, only keywords located in task names, descriptions, and Custom Fields return results.
Browse the Hierarchy
Use the Sidebar to browse your Hierarchy. Click the expand icons to expand or contract Spaces and Folders.
Search a view
To search for an item within a specific Task view:
- Open a Task view.
- In the upper-right of the view, click the magnifying glass icon.
- Type one or more keywords from the item you are looking for.
- Results automatically populate.

You can also search for specific views within your Workspace using Command Center.

Find archived items
The items you're looking for may have been archived. Learn how to unarchive items using the following articles:
Check your permissions
If an item's permissions change, you may have lost access. Contact your Workspace owner or admin to check your permissions.
Check the Trash
The item you're looking for may have been deleted. Check the Trash.
Members and guests can only see and restore items they deleted in the last 30 days. The Workspace owner and admins can see, restore, or permanently delete most items from the last 30 days.
