Use the AI Command Bar

You can access the AI Command Bar from anywhere in ClickUp:

When you enable Connected Search, you can also search for files from certain apps!

Connected Search results display their app's icon next to them. Filter your search results by any connected app by clicking the app's icon under the search bar. 

When using the ClickUp desktop app, you can access the AI Command Bar from anywhere on your computer:

  • Press Cmd + J on Mac.
  • Press Ctrl + J on PC.

Whether you're browsing the web, in another application, or on the browser version of ClickUp, the keyboard shortcut will open the AI Command Bar in the ClickUp desktop app and start searching.

When searching for tasks, only keywords located in task names, descriptions, and Custom Fields return results.

Browse the Hierarchy in ClickUp 4.0

In ClickUp 4.0, you can browse the Hierarchy using your Home Sidebar or the Spaces Sidebar.

Using your Home Sidebar

To browse the Hierarchy from your Home Sidebar:

  1. In your Global Navigation, click Home.

  2. In your Home Sidebar, scroll down to the Spaces section.
  3. To expand or hide a Space or Folder, hover over it and click the expand icon.
    • If you do not see your Spaces, Folders, and Lists, click Spaces to expand the section.

Using the Spaces Sidebar

To browse the Hierarchy from the Spaces Sidebar:

  1. In your Global Navigation, click Spaces.
    • If you don't see the item in your Global Navigation, click More and select it.
    • To keep the item visible in your Global Navigation, pin it.
  2. Browse your Hierarchy in the Spaces Sidebar. 
  3. To expand or hide a Space or Folder, hover over it and click the expand icon.

In ClickUp 3.0, use the Sidebar to browse your Hierarchy. To expand or hide a Space or Folder, hover over it and click the expand icon.

Search a view

To search for an item within a specific Task view such as List, Board, or Table view:

  1. Open a Task view.
  2. In the upper-right of the view, click the magnifying glass icon.
  3. Type one or more keywords from the item you are looking for.
  4. Results automatically populate.

Find archived items

Check your permissions

When an item's permissions change, you may lose access. Contact your Workspace owner or admin to check your permissions.

Check the Trash

The item you're looking for may have been deleted. Check the Trash.

Members and guests can only see and restore items they deleted in the last 30 days. The Workspace owner and admins can see, restore, or permanently delete most items from the last 30 days.
