If you don't need a Space anymore, archive it to reduce clutter on your screen or delete it permanently. Spaces that you archive can still be accessed and searched for at any time.
Deleted Spaces can only be restored from the Trash within 30 days of deletion.

You can archive and delete Spaces on every ClickUp plan.
- Archived Spaces do not count towards the Free Forever Plan's limits.
- Guests cannot archive, unarchive, and delete any Space.
Spaces Home
View, show, and hide all of the available Spaces in your Workspace using All Spaces.
Archive a Space
Archived Spaces aren't visible in your Home Sidebar or the Spaces Sidebar.
You can continue to search for items in archived Spaces using the AI Command Bar. Items in archived Spaces will continue to trigger notifications for assignees and followers and Automations in that Space will continue to run.
There are multiple ways to archive a Space.
Using your Home Sidebar
To archive a Space using your Home Sidebar:
- In your Global Navigation, click Home.
- In the Spaces section of your Home Sidebar, hover over the Space and click the ellipsis ... icon.
- Alternatively, right-click the Space.
- Select Archive.
- Your Space can be restored at any time.
Using the Spaces Sidebar
To archive a Space using the Spaces Sidebar:
- In your Global Navigation, click Spaces.
- If you don't see the item in your Global Navigation, click More and select it.
- To keep the item visible in your Global Navigation, pin it.
- Hover over the Space in the Spaces Sidebar and click the ellipsis ... icon.
- Alternatively, right-click the Space.
- Select Archive.
- Your Space can be restored at any time.
Show or restore archived Spaces
You can temporarily show or restore archived Spaces to your Home Sidebar or the Spaces Sidebar. This is helpful if you need to look at an item in the Space or to use it to create a template.
There are multiple ways to temporarily show or restore archived Spaces.
From your Home Sidebar
To temporarily show or restore archived Spaces from your Home Sidebar:
- In your Global Navigation, click Home.
- Hover over the Spaces section in your Home Sidebar and click the ellipsis ... icon.
- Enable Show archived.
- Archived Spaces, Folders, and Lists, and their items will be displayed. Archived Spaces are italicized and have an archived icon next to them.
- To restore the archived location, hover over it and click the ellipsis ... menu. Select Unarchive.
From the Spaces Sidebar
To temporarily show or restore archived Spaces from the Spaces Sidebar.:
- In your Global Navigation, click Spaces.
- If you don't see the item in your Global Navigation, click More and select it.
- To keep the item visible in your Global Navigation, pin it.
- Hover over the Space Sidebar and click the ellipsis ... icon at the top.
- Enable Show archived.
- Archived Spaces, Folders, and Lists, and their items will be displayed. Archived Spaces are italicized and have an archived icon next to them.
- To restore the archived location, hover over it and click the ellipsis ... menu. Select Unarchive.
Delete an archived Space
Delete an archived Space you no longer need. Deleted Spaces can only be restored from the Trash within 30 days of deletion.
To delete an inaccessible Space, you must first transfer ownership of it.
There are multiple ways to delete an archived Space.
Using your Home Sidebar
To delete an archived Space using your Home Sidebar:
- Follow the steps in this article to temporarily show archived items.
- In the Spaces section of your Home Sidebar, hover over the archived Space and click the ellipsis ... menu.
- Alternatively, right-click the Space.
- Click Delete.
- To confirm the permanent deletion, click Delete.
Using the Spaces Sidebar
To delete an archived Space using the Spaces Sidebar:
- Follow the steps in this article to temporarily show archived items.
- Hover over the archived Space in the Spaces Sidebar and click the ellipsis ... menu.
- Alternatively, right-click the Space.
- Click Delete.
- To confirm the permanent deletion, click Delete.
Recover a deleted Space
Workspace owners and admins can recover deleted Spaces from the Trash within 30 days of deletion.
Additionally, members who both created and deleted a Space can recover it within 30 days.
