Default user role permissions

Every plan has the same set of default Workspace-level user role permissions for guests, limited members, members, and admins. Workspace owners have all of these permissions.

Can default user role permissions be edited?

On Business Plus and Enterprise plans, default permissions can be edited or used to create custom roles. On all other plans, unless specified below, the default permissions can't be edited. 

Guests only have a few default Workspace-level permissions. You can view these in the table at the bottom of this article. 

Permission to invite users

There are two invite permissions available on all plans. 

Permission to manage users

This table shows the default limited member, member, and admin permissions for managing Workspace users:

Manage Users

Permits users to manage all Workspace users, including inviting, removing, and changing roles.

If the Delete Items permission is off, the user can't delete statues.

Permits users to edit Custom Fields, including the name, description, and location.

Merge Custom Fields

Permits users to merge multiple Custom Fields of the same type into a single Custom Field. 

Convert Custom Fields

Permits users to convert Custom Fields from one type to another. 

Move Custom Fields

Permits users to move Custom Fields from one Hierarchy location to another. 

Check the Workspace level box to permit users to move Custom Fields to or from the Workspace level. 

Pinned Custom Fields

Permits users to pin a Custom Field. 

Permission to delete specific items

Users who have this permission can delete these items:
