Use List templates

Reuse Lists in your Workspace when setting up new projects for your team!

What you'll need

Create a List template

You can save a List as a template to reuse it for future projects.

To create a List template:

  1. Create a List or select an existing List.
    • If necessary, add the tasks, views, and Automations that you would like to save as a template.
  2. In the Sidebar, hover over the List and click the ellipsis ... icon.
  3. Select Templates.
  4. Click Save as Template.

  6. In the lower-right corner, click Save.

Create a List from a template

Repeat processes and recreate workflows by creating a new List from a template. 

To use a List template, you'll need permission to access the List that was used to create the template. This includes private and deleted Lists.

To create a new List from a template:

  1. In the Sidebar, click the ellipsis ... next to a Space, Folder, or List.
  2. Select Templates.
  3. Click Browse Templates.
  4. From the Template Center, search for a template. You can also filter for List templates using the sidebar.
  5. There are two ways to apply the template to your new List:
    • Customize the new List by clicking a template and choosing which information you want to include. Click Use Template to finalize.
    • Immediately create a List from the template by hovering over the template and clicking Quick Use.

Update a List template

Update List templates to stay up-to-date with your processes. Once a List template is updated, the template cannot be reverted to its previous state.

  1. Apply a List template to an existing or new List.
  2. Make any changes and updates to the tasks, views, and Automations.
  3. Click the List settings ellipsis ... in the Sidebar.
  4. Select Templates.
  5. Click Update existing Template.
  6. Search for and select the existing template you want to update.
  7. Click Next.
    • You can rename your template and update its sharing and import preferences.
  8. In the lower-right, click Save.

Delete a List template

Delete List templates you no longer need.

Deleted templates cannot be recovered from the Trash.

  1. From the Template Center, select the template.
  2. Next to the template name, click the ellipsis ... icon.
  3. Select Delete template.
  4. To confirm, click Delete.

Set a default task template for a List

Automatically apply a template to all new tasks created in a List.
