Manage individual permissions for view only users

Limited members view only and guests have four individual permissions. On paid plans, admins and owners can edit individual permissions for time estimates, time tracking, adding or removing tags, or creating views.

Default individual permissions

These are the default individual permissions for view only users for all plans:

  • Activated by default: Time estimates and time tracking are activated by default. 
  • Deactivated by default: Add/remove tags and create views are deactivated by default. 

Edit individual permissions

On Free Forever Plans, individual permissions can't be edited. 

Individual permissions can be edited on the Unlimited Plan and above. To edit individual permissions:

  1. In the upper-left corner, click your Workspace avatar.
    • In ClickUp 4.0, select People.
    • In ClickUp 3.0, select Manage users
  2. On the Manage people page, in the upper-left corner, click the user dropdown.
  3. From the dropdown, select View-Only Seats.
  4. Scroll to the right to see the user's permissions column.

  5. Click the Time estimates, Time tracked, Add/remove tags, or Create views icons to activate or deactivate that permission.
