To use Super Agents, you'll need to use ClickUp 4.0 and activate the AI ClickApp for your Workspace.

If you want to interact with Super Agents via Chat, you'll need to activate the Chat ClickApp.

Plan how Super Agents will join your team

Identify opportunities to introduce Super Agents into your workflows!

Some tips include:

  • Use a Whiteboard to map out your workflows, to see where Super Agents can help.
  • Discover bottlenecks and manual and repetitive steps in your workflows.
  • Ask your first Super Agents to work in a Space, Folder, or List with representative sample data. This will allow your team to become familiar with creating, interacting, and improving Super Agents.
  • Give Super Agents personality with customizable names and avatars.

Super Agents you can build right now

Start with Super Agents that perform specific steps or tasks with your workflows. For example, you can create Super Agents who:

  • Draft marketing email copy for seasonal promotions and discounts.
  • Provide a daily report of tasks that are due that day, and a weekly report of overdue tasks for a project.
  • Set the priority and due date of incoming tasks based on service level agreements (SLAs).

Or, create a Super Agent that answers specific types of questions. For example, you can create Super Agents who:

  • Answer common questions about employee benefits.
  • Answer questions about a project, including status, blockers, critical decisions, and milestones.
  • Answer questions about how to use ClickUp, using our Help Center articles.

Build a team of Super Agents

You can expand your agentic workforce as you get more familiar with working with Super Agents. You can build a team of Super Agents to automate more and more steps in your workflows.

By using Super Agents alongside humans, your team will have more time to focus on their most impactful work.

You can also create a Super Agent from scratch, then manually configure your Super Agent.

Use Super Agents

After creating a Super Agent, you can test and refine it.

You'll interact with Super Agents according to their triggers. Here's how you can get started with triggers:

  • Start by having conversations with Super Agents in Direct Messages (DMs).
  • Then @mention your Super Agents on tasks, Docs, and Chat to see how they'll work with you.
  • When you're ready, start assigning tasks to Super Agents to have them own work items.
  • You can also trigger Agents on a schedule or using Automations.

Edit Super Agents from their profile

Super Agents have profiles, where you can see their configuration, activity, and assigned tasks.

From their profile, you can edit your Super Agent's appearance and availability, including:

  • Name and description: Make your Super Agents easy to find and understand its purpose.
  • Avatar: Let your Super Agents stand out from the crowd.
  • Privacy, sharing, and permissions: Make sure you give your team the right permissions to your Super Agents.
  • Activate or deactivate your Super Agents in your Workspace.

From the Agent tab of a Super Agent's profile, you can manually configure or edit how your Super Agent will work, including its:

  • Instructions
  • Triggers
  • Tools
  • Memory
  • Knowledge

Open a Super Agent

You can view or edit your Super Agent's settings at any time. Super Agents can be opened from the AI Hub or by clicking the Super Agent's avatar in a task comment, Chat message, or DM.

Track your Super Agent's activity

Use the audit log to track the success or failure status of your Super Agents. 

Create an Automation that triggers a Super Agent

You cannot create an Automation from a Super Agent's profile.

To create an Automation that triggers a Super Agent:

  1. Navigate to a Space, Folder, List, or Channel in your Workspace.
  2. Create an Automation
  3. From the Action dropdown, select Super Agents.
  4. Select a Super Agent.
  5. Customize the additional instructions for the Automation.
  6. Configure the rest of your Automation.
  7. Click Create.
