Preview ClickUp links

See live, synced link previews when you paste ClickUp links in your Workspace.

What you'll need

Task and subtask previews

When a task or subtask link is pasted in your Workspace, you will see a live preview that includes the following information:

  • Task name
  • Task type and location
  • Status
  • Assignees
  • Due date
  • Priority

To open the task or subtask, click anywhere in the link preview.

Copy the task or subtask's link, open it in a new tab, or copy its task ID by hovering over the link preview and clicking the options in the upper-right corner.

Comment previews

When you paste a task or Doc comment in your Workspace, you will see a live preview that includes the following information:

  • Comment author
  • Date or time posted
  • Preview of the comment's content
  • The Show more button, allowing you to expand the entire comment
  • Comment location

To open the comment, click anywhere in the link preview.

Copy the comment's link, open it in a new tab, convert the preview to an inline link, or delete the preview by hovering over it and clicking the options in the upper-right corner.

Message previews

When you paste a Chat message in your Workspace, you will see a live preview that includes the following information:

  • Message author
  • Date or time posted
  • Preview of the message's content
  • Message location

Click the message to open it.

You can open the message in a new tab, copy its link, revert it to a regular URL, or delete the preview by hovering over the preview and clicking the new tab icon, link icon, or ellipsis ... icon in the upper-right corner.

Location previews

When you paste a Folder or List in your Workspace, you'll see a link preview that displays its parent Space or Folder. List link previews display the number of open tasks within the List.

Click the preview to open the location.

Doc previews

When you paste a Doc that was created at a Hierarchy location in your Workspace, you'll see a live preview that includes the following information:

  • A live, visual preview of the Doc
  • Doc name
  • Doc location
  • Date and time of last edit

To open the Doc, click anywhere in the link preview.

Copy the Doc's link, open it in a new tab, convert the preview to an inline link, or delete the preview by hovering over it and clicking the options in the upper-right corner.

View previews

When you paste a view in your Workspace, you'll see a link preview that displays its location.

Click the preview to open the view.

Whiteboard previews

When you paste a Whiteboard in your Workspace, an embed is displayed. You can choose to display it as a plain link or an inline link by clicking either option after pasting the link.

To view an embedded Whiteboard in full screen, copy its link, change how it's displayed, rename it, or delete it:

Hover over the embed and click the expand icon, link icon, or ellipsis ... icon in the upper-right corner.
