Customize your Global Navigation, Home Sidebar, and Workspace themes.

These changes only apply to your Workspace, so configure them however works best for you! If you belong to multiple Workspaces, these changes apply to all of your Workspaces.

Workspace themes are available to all user roles on all plans.

What is the Customize menu?

In the Customize menu, you can do the following

• Pin or unpin items in your Global Navigation and Home Sidebar. 
• Reorganize default and custom Home Sidebar sections and create new ones.
• Customize your Workspace appearance and themes.

Open the Customize menu

The Customize menu can be opened from these three locations:

Your Global Navigation

To open the Customize menu from your Global Navigation:

1. In your Global Navigation, click More.
2. At the bottom of the More menu, click Customize navigation.

Your Home Sidebar

Using ClickUp 3.0? Most Home Sidebar options are available in the Sidebar. Learn more about ClickUp 4.0!

To open the Customize menu from your Home Sidebar:

• In your Home Sidebar, below My Tasks, click More. 

Your personal avatar

To open the Customize menu from your personal avatar:

1. In the upper-right corner of your Workspace, click your personal avatar. 
2. In the account menu, select Themes.
   

Pin or unpin Global Navigation features

Choose which items stay visible in your Global Navigation by pinning and unpinning features. 

To pin or unpin Global Navigation features: 

1. At the top of the Customize menu, select Navigation.
2. To the left of the items, check or uncheck the boxes.
   
   • The only item in the Navigation tab that can't be edited is Home.

You can also pin and unpin Global Navigation features in the More menu.

Pin or unpin Home Sidebar items

Choose which items stay visible in your Home Sidebar by pinning and unpinning them. 

To pin or unpin Home Sidebar items: 

1. At the top of the Customize menu, select Home.
2. To the left of the items, check or uncheck the boxes.

• Inbox and Replies cannot be unpinned from your Home Sidebar.

Create and reorganize your Home Sidebar sections

Create new custom Home Sidebar sections and reorganize custom or default ones. 

Create a Home Sidebar section

To create Home Sidebar sections:

1. At the top of the Customize menu, select Sections.
2. At the bottom of the Sections menu, click Create section.
3. In the Create Section menu, type the section's name. 
   • You can also select an emoji. 
     

Reorganize Home Sidebar sections

To reorganize default and custom Home Sidebar sections:

1. At the top of the Customize menu, select Sections. 
2. Drag and drop the sections. 

Personalize your Workspace appearance and theme

Workspace appearance

To customize your Workspace appearance:

1. At the top of the Customize menu, select Themes.
2. In the Appearance section, select a screen appearance option:

• Light: Your screen will have a light background with dark text.
• Dark: Your screen will have a dark background with light text and borders.
• Auto: Your screen display will automatically adjust from light to dark.

Workspace theme

To customize your Workspace theme:

1. At the top of the Customize menu, select Themes.
2. In the ClickUp theme section, select one of these theme colors:
   • Black: The default.
   • Purple
   • Blue
   • Pink
   • Violet
   • Indigo
   • Orange
   • Teal
   • Bronze

   • Mint

     

To adjust your Workspace appearance or themes, you can also select Settings from your account settings to open the My Settings page. In addition, My Settings includes High Contrast mode.

My Settings does not have Navigation, Home, or Sections tabs like the Customize menu.
