Use @mentions

Use @mentions in tasks, Chats, and Docs to bring your teammates' attention to items.

Chats can only be accessed when the Chat ClickApp is enabled. When the Chat ClickApp is enabled, Chat view is no longer displayed.

Use @mentions

You can @mention a person, task, Doc, or location in task descriptions, task comments, Chats, private messages, or when replying to a comment from Inbox.

When you @mention a person in a task the following happens:

  • When they're mentioned in a task comment, they become a watcher of that task.
  • When they're mentioned in a task description, they will not be added as a watcher. 
  • When they're mentioned in a task description, they will receive a notification
  • The comment they're mentioned in is highlighted in the task.
  • Their names are highlighted in their Inbox
  • When you mention a person in a comment on a private task, you have the option to share that task.

To @mention a person: 

  1. Type @ and a person or Team's initials.
    • You can also type @ to display the person selector.  
  2. Choose the person or Team. You can @mention all assignees or watchers using @watchers or @assignee.
    • Names are prioritized by how often you tag them.

@mention people in a Chat

To @mention in a Chat:

  1. Type @at the bottom of the Chat or DM.

  2. Choose the person.

@mention people in a Doc

To @mention in a Doc:

  1. Type @.
  2. Choose the person. This person must have access to the Doc for them to be tagged.
  3. Click their name to mention them in the Doc. This will notify the user that they have been @mentioned.

You can't mention others in Docs unless the Doc has been shared with them.

@mention a task

To @mention a task:

  1. Type @@.
  2. Choose or search for the task.
  3. Select the task. 

@mention a Doc page

To @mention a Doc page.

  1. Type @@@.
  2. Choose or search for the page.
  3. Select the task

@mention a location

To @mention a Hierarchy location:

  1. Type @.
  2. Click the Locations tab.
  3. Scroll for and select a location.
