Message a Channel

There are several ways to message a Channel.

From your Home Sidebar 

To message a Channel from your Home Sidebar:

  1. In your Global Navigation, click Home.
  2. In the Channels section of your Home Sidebar, select a Channel. 
  3. Type your message or use Talk to Text to transcribe your voice.
    • Optional: To make your message a Post, click the Message dropdown under your draft and select Post.
  4. Click the send icon.

From the Chat Sidebar

To message a Channel from the Chat Sidebar:

  1. In your Global Navigation, click Chat.

    • If you don't see the item in your Global Navigation, click More and select it.

    • To keep the item visible in your Global Navigation, pin it.

  2. In the Chat Sidebar, select a Channel.
  3. Type your message or use Talk to Text to transcribe your voice.
    • Optional: To make your message a Post, click the Message dropdown under your draft and select Post.
  4. Click the send icon.

From the create button

You can create messages from the create button in your Home or Chat Sidebar:

  1. In your Global Navigation, select Home or Chat.
  2. In the upper-right corner of the Sidebar, click the plus icon.
  3. Select Message.

  4. Choose where to send your message.
  5. Type your message or use Talk to Text to transcribe your voice.
    • Optional: To make your message a Post, click the Message dropdown under your draft and select Post.
  6. Click the send icon.

Message a Channel using Talk to Text

When drafting a Chat message, you can use Talk to Text to transcribe your voice.

To use Talk to Text in a Chat message:

  1. When drafting your message, click the microphone icon to start recording your voice.

  2. When you've finished speaking, click Transcribe. To cancel the recording, click the x icon.
  3. Make any final additions or edits to your draft, then click the send icon.
