Edit a Chat message from the context menu

To edit a Chat message you sent from the context menu:

  1. In any Channel or direct message, right-click the message you sent.
  2. If you have keyboard shortcuts enabled, press E. Otherwise, click Edit.

  3. Update the message.
  4. Press Return on Mac or Enter on PC. Alternatively, click Save.

Messages that are edited fifteen or more minutes after sending will display (edited) next to the date and time they were sent.

Edit a Chat message from the message toolbar

To edit a Chat message you sent from the message toolbar:

  1. In any Channel or direct message, hover over the message you sent.
  2. In the message toolbar, click the ellipsis ... menu.
  3. If you have keyboard shortcuts enabled, press E. Otherwise, click Edit.
  4. Update the message.
  5. Press Return on Mac or Enter on PC. Alternatively, click Save.
