Reply to a Channel thread

To reply to a thread in a Channel:

1. Hover over the message.
2. In the message toolbar, click the reply icon.
   
3. Type your message. You can use rich text formatting, add attachments, and more.
   • Optional: You can @mention all Channel Followers by including @everyone or @followers in your message.
4. Press Return on Mac or Enter on PC.

Need to make changes to your reply? You can edit sent messages.

Send thread replies to Channels

Send your reply to a thread's Channel.

When sending a reply

When drafting a thread reply, click the Also send to checkbox to have it sent in both the thread and the thread's Channel.

From an existing message

If you've already replied to a thread, you can still send the message to the Channel:

1. Right-click your thread reply.
2. Select Send reply to Channel.

Reply to a direct message thread

To reply to a thread in a direct message:

1. Hover over the message.
2. In the message toolbar, click the reply icon.
3. Type your message. You can use rich text formatting, add attachments, and more.
   • Optional: In addition to the thread, send your reply to the Channel that the thread is taking place by clicking the Also send checkbox.
4. Press Return on Mac or Enter on PC.
