Attach files to a message
To attach files to a message:
- In any Channel or direct message draft, click the paperclip icon.
- Click Upload file or choose one of the cloud storage options.
- Select a file.
- The file will be added to your draft.
Attach files with ClickUp MCP
An AI assistant connected to the ClickUp MCP can attach files to Chat messages.
To attach a file with ClickUp MCP, ask your assistant to attach the file to a message in a Channel. For example, Attach this screenshot to a message in the Design Channel. The assistant uploads the file, then references it in the message it sends.
Each message can reference up to 50 files. A file already in your Workspace can be referenced without uploading it again.
