Use the Group by menu to choose how your tasks are organized in your view.
The Group by menu is available on every ClickUp Plan.
Everyone, including guests, can use this feature.
Use grouping
The Group by menu is available on the following views:
From any of the supported views, click Group by at the top of the screen to access the grouping options.

In List and Table view, you can quickly change the grouping by clicking the column header that you'd like to group by and selecting Group.
You can group your tasks by the following:
- Status
- Assignee
- Priority
- Tags
- Due date
- Task Type
- The following Custom Fields:
- Dropdown
- Rating
- Checkbox
- Date
- Users
- Labels
- You can group by these fields if they're private!

Custom Relationships
- You can only group tasks by Custom Relationships in List view.
- To view all tasks without grouping, delete the current grouping selection by clicking the delete icon to the right.

You can reverse the order of your groups by clicking on the icon beside your grouping selection. If you are grouping and filtering List view and Board view the same way, they will both share the same task order.
If tasks are sorted and grouped, the task grouping will be prioritized. Tasks will be grouped first, then sorted within the group.
Add a status, tag, label, dropdown, or task type
Use the New button to quickly add a new status, tag, label, dropdown, or task type!
Grouping by fields with multiple values
Tasks can have multiple assignees, Tags, and label Custom Field values.
By default, tasks with multiple values are grouped based on all their values.
For example, the invoice for Seaport Distribution is assigned to the Accounts Payable team and Sam.
The invoice task appears in the Sam, Accounts Payable group, but not in the group of tasks assigned to Sam.

Group by single values
In List view, you can group tasks by single values by activating one item per group. Tasks may appear more than once in your view, once in each group for every value.
With the one item per group option activated, tasks are grouped by single values. Tasks may appear more than once in your view, once in each group for every value.
For example, the invoice task for Seaport Distribution appears in both the Sam and Accounts Payable groups.

With this setting activated, groups with multiple values are not displayed. In the above example, the Sam, Accounts Payable group is not displayed in the view.
Activate one item per group
When using the Group by option for Assignees, Tags, or Label Custom Fields:
- In the upper-left corner, click Group by.
- Select Assignees, Tags, or a Label Custom Field.
- Click the toggle to activate one item per group.
- The button label varies based on the group by field.
- Click Save view.

Collapse groups
Hide groups you don't want to see by collapsing them.
To collapse a group, click the ellipsis ... menu next to a group and select Collapse.
