What you'll need
- Templates are available on every plan.
- Guests only have access to templates for Docs, tasks, views, checklists, and Whiteboards.
- Guests with edit or full permissions can create templates.
- Private items included in templates can only be used by people with access to that item. For example, if a List template was created from a private List I do not have access to, I can't use the template.
Create a template
Archived tasks are included in templates.
To create a template:
- Expand the location or open the item.
- Click the ellipsis ... to open the settings menu.
- Select Templates.
- Click Save as Template.
- From the Save as new Template modal, type a template name.

Optional: Add a description, tags, and select sharing options. When you create, update, or apply a template, all options, project dates, and archived tasks are included in the duplicate by default. You can update this by selecting Customize import items.

- Click Save Template.
- When your template has been created, a toast message temporarily appears in the lower-left corner. Click Open to quickly open your template without navigating to the template center.
