Intro to location header

Quickly navigate and take actions from the location header.

This article covers versions 3.0 and 4.0. Learn what's new in ClickUp 4.0!

What is the location header?

The location header refers to a horizontal bar displayed above the Views Bar.

From the location header, you can:

  • Use navigation breadcrumbs to see your current location within the Hierarchy.
  • Explore the Hierarchy and create new Lists.
  • Edit location settings and fields.
  • Add locations to your favorites.
  • Set fields specific to the List, Folder, or Space.
  • Take quick actions, including: Super Agents, Autopilot Agents, Automations, Ask AI, Share, and Chat.

Use navigation breadcrumbs

The location header helps you explore the Hierarchy by displaying your current location and the Folders and Spaces above it.

For example, from the Accounting Payable List, the navigation breadcrumbs display the Accounting Space and the Processing Folder.

Explore the Hierarchy and create new Lists

From the location header, you can quickly explore the Hierarchy.

In ClickUp 4.0, you can quickly navigate around the current Space and create new Lists.

Edit location settings

You can edit the Space, Folder, or List settings from the menu in the location header.

Add to favorites

You can add a location to your favorites in ClickUp 3.0 and ClickUp 4.0!
 
In ClickUp 4.0, from the favorites menu, you can:

Set fields for Spaces, Folders, and Lists

Use fields to manage your Spaces, Folders, and Lists.

For example, if your Lists represent different projects, you can use these fields to keep your projects organized and on track.

Available fields include:

  • Description: Write a brief description for the location.
  • Assignee: Assign the location to people or teams.
  • Priority: Set the priority for the location.
  • Dates: Set a start date and due date for the location.

Quick actions

On the far-right of the location header, you can take the following quick actions:

  • Agents: Use an Autopilot Agent on the tasks in your current location. Or, create, edit, view, or manage a Super Agent
  • Automations: Create and manage Automations that apply to tasks in your current location.
  • Ask AI: Use ClickUp Brain to answer questions about your current location.
  • Share: Share the current location with people and teams.
  • Chat: Start chatting in the channel for the current location.

Expand and collapse the location header
