Make Custom Fields required to help enforce processes and ensure data integrity.

Required Custom Fields need to be filled out when creating tasks in any locations the Custom Field is used in.

What you'll need

• 60 Custom Fields uses are available on the Free Forever Plan.
• Unlimited uses are available on paid plans.
• Required Custom Fields are available on the Business Plan and above.
• Only owners and admins can make Custom Fields required.
• AI Custom Fields cannot be made private.

Make a Custom Field required

To make a Custom Field required from the Custom Field Manager:

1. Click the Custom Field.
2. In the Edit field sidebar, enable Required in tasks.
   • Optional: To make this Custom Field required for subtasks as well, enable Required in subtasks.
3. In the lower-right corner, click Save.
