You can see and search all Custom Fields in your Workspace from the Custom Field Manager.
What you'll need
- Custom Field Manager is available on all ClickUp plans.
- Guests can't use the Custom Field Manager.
- On Business Plus and Enterprise Plans, members can access the Custom Field Manager if the Manage Custom Fields custom role permission is enabled for members.
- The options to merge and move Custom Fields are available on the Business Plus and Enterprise Plans.
See all Custom Fields in your Workspace
To see all Custom Fields you have permissions to in your Workspace, click All Custom Fields in the upper-left corner of the Custom Field Manager.
Use the Custom Field Manager sidebar to browse your Workspace Hierarchy. Click any Space, Folder, or List to view the available Custom Fields in each location.
Custom Fields are inherited through the Hierarchy. For example, if you create a Custom Field at the Space level, it will be available in all Folders and Lists created in that Space.
Search Custom Fields
To search for a Custom Field:
- In the Custom Field Manager sidebar, click All Custom Fields or select a specific location.
- In the upper-right corner, click Search.
- Enter the name of a Custom Field. Results filter as you type.
Filter Custom Fields
To filter Custom Fields:
- In the Custom Field Manager sidebar, click All Custom Fields or select a specific location.
- At the top, click Filter or the filter icon.
- Set your Filter options.
- The table of Custom Fields will display tasks that match your filter criteria.
Group Custom Fields
To group Custom Fields:
- In the Custom Field Manager sidebar, click All Custom Fields or select a specific location.
- Click Group By or the group icon and select an option.
- Collapse and expand each group by clicking the group heading.
Sort Custom Fields
To sort Custom Fields:
- In the Custom Field Manager sidebar, click All Custom Fields or select a specific location.

Click a column heading to sort fields by the values in that column.
Sorting is not available for all columns.
- Click the column heading again to switch between ascending and descending order.
- The list of Custom Fields will display tasks in the selected sort order.
- Click the column heading a third time to remove sorting from that column.
Pin a Custom Field
By default, Custom Fields are hidden on tasks until you set a value for them. You can pin a Custom Field so that it always appears on tasks even when the field is empty.
There are two ways to pin a Custom Field from the Custom Field Manager:
- Check the box in the Pinned column. If you don't see this column, you can add it by clicking the plus icon to the right of your column headers.
- When editing a Custom Field, enabled Pinned.
