Allow requests to upgrade to a member

Limited members and limited members view only can request an upgrade to a member. This will give them full access to all public items. Approving or ignoring the request is up to you!

Request to upgrade

This feature is available for all plans

Limited members will see a modal letting them know they can request full access to this Workspace.

To send the request, the limited member clicks the Request full access button.

Ignore or approve the request

When a request is sent, anyone in the Workspace with permission to add members receives it. The request is received via each person's preferred Inbox and email notification settings. 

To allow or deny the request:

  1. In your Inbox, click the user request message.

    In ClickUp 4.0, this message will be in the Primary tab. In ClickUp 3.0, this message will be in the Important tab.

  2. Select Ignore or Approve. You can also convert the user's role in your Workspace settings.
  3. If approved, the requestor will receive an email and Inbox notification.

Request expiration

Requests are valid for 14 days. After 14 days the request is canceled and a new request can be submitted. Limited members cannot send a new request while one is still pending.
