The ClickUp AI add-on is available for purchase on all paid plans. Free Forever Workspaces must upgrade to a paid plan to add AI.

Try ClickUp AI

All plans can try the ClickUp AI add-on before purchasing it. The AI add-on includes our Ask AI features and AutoAI features.

AutoAI is currently in beta. We are gradually releasing AutoAI along with our Chat feature. Actions are freely available during this beta period subject to the terms of our fair use policy.

This table outlines the post-beta ClickUp AI trial usage limits by plan:

After you reach the usage limit, you'll need to purchase AI to continue using it.

There may be limits on ClickUp Brain features in the future. Current usage of ClickUp Brain features is subject to our fair use policy.

What counts as a use or action when trying ClickUp AI?

AI uses

When trying ClickUp AI, any option that generates a response counts as a use. 

For example:

• Write with AI
• Generate action items
• Try again
• Using Tell AI what to do next to reprompt AI
• Using Summarize in Docs, task comment threads, and Inbox comments
• Using AI /Slash Commands

Options that don't require a response after AI's initial response do not count as uses:
For example, Insert or Copy. 

AI actions

The following updates count as actions:

• An update made by AI Custom Fields.
• An update made by AutoAI.

 AutoAI actions are per user per month and shared across the Workspace. For example:

• My Unlimited Plan Workspace has 2 people.
• Unlimited Workspaces get 50 actions per user per month.
• Since we're a Workspace of two, we have 100 actions per month. 
• If Member A uses 60 actions, Member B can use 40 actions.

AI Custom Fields

• Free Forever Plan: 50 total uses. This limit is shared with all AutoAI features across your Workspace and does not reset.
• Unlimited Plan and above: 50 uses per user per month. This limit is shared with all AutoAI features across your Workspace.

AI uses

To track your uses:

1. In the toolbar, click the ClickUp AI icon.
2. In the upper-right corner of the ClickUp Brain modal, click the ellipsis ... icon. 
3. Select Trial Usage.

AI actions

To track your actions:

1. In the upper-right corner of any view except Everything, click Automations. 
   
   • You can access this modal from the Sidebar by clicking the ellipsis ... menu next to a location, selecting the settings tab, then clicking Automations.
2. At the top of the Automations modal, select Manage.
3. Scroll to the Total Autopilot Actions Used section.

Access by user role

The following table details ClickUp AI access by user role: 

The limited member and limited member view only user roles are slowly being released to every Workspace. Owners and admins will receive an email before these roles are activated in their Workspace.

Countries with no availability 

ClickUp Brain features are not available in the following countries:

• China
• Cuba
• Hong Kong
• Iran
• North Korea
• Russia 
• Syria
