Use Brain for browser automation

Ask Brain to work in a website for you. Brain opens a browser session, shows each step, and hands the browser to you when a site needs you to sign in. Every session is saved as an Artifact with an audit log and recording.

Use browser automation for work that has no integration, such as vendor portals, authenticated dashboards, and web forms.

For a limited time, browser sessions don't use any extra AI Credits. You're only charged the usual usage for the Brain run that uses the browser. Pricing for browser sessions may be subject to change in the future.

Start an automated browser session

To start a browser session from any chat with Brain:

  1. Describe the website task and ask Brain to use the browser. For example, Go to our vendor portal and download last month's invoice.
  2. Send the message.
  3. Brain will include an Artifact card in its reply that you can click to open the session and watch the live browser.

Teach Brain a browser workflow

Show Brain how you complete a website task to turn the steps into a reusable AI Skill. You can demonstrate live or share a ClickUp Clip or uploaded video.

Brain does not save passwords or verification codes in the Skill. A test uses the live website and can make real changes when you approve them.

From a live browser session

To show Brain a workflow in the browser:

  1. In a chat with Brain, describe the task and include the website URL. For example, I want to teach you how to download invoices from our vendor portal. Open a browser so I can show you.
  2. Click Open a browser to show me.
  3. Complete the workflow in the browser that opens.
  4. Tell Brain when you've finished.
  5. Brain reviews the workflow and proposes a Skill with the website, goal, and steps.
  6. Review Brain's proposed steps and answer any questions.
  7. Choose whether Brain should test the workflow in a browser or save it without testing.
    • During a test, sign in yourself when needed.
    • Brain pauses for approval before actions such as sending, paying, publishing, or deleting.
    • After a test, review the result and tell Brain what needs to change.
  8. Confirm that Brain should save the Skill.

You control this browser session. Brain records the steps without clicking or typing for you.

From a Clip or uploaded video

Record the website task without showing passwords, verification codes, or payment details.

To teach Brain from a recording:

  1. In a Chat with Brain, share the ClickUp Clip or upload the video.
  2. Ask Brain to learn the workflow. For example, Learn how to download invoices from our vendor portal from this recording and turn it into a reusable skill.
  3. Brain reviews the recording and proposes a Skill with the website, goal, and steps.
  4. Review Brain's proposed steps and answer any questions.
  5. Choose whether Brain should test the workflow in a browser or save it without testing.
    • During a test, sign in yourself when needed.
    • Brain pauses for approval before actions such as sending, paying, publishing, or deleting.
    • After a test, review the result and tell Brain what needs to change.
  6. Confirm that Brain should save the Skill.

Sign in when needed

When a site needs you to sign in, Brain will pause and ask you to sign in:

  1. Click the Artifact card and sign in to the site.
  2. Message Brain that you've signed in and it will continue.

A browser session that is waiting for you to sign in stays open for about 10 minutes.

Stop a browser session

To stop a session before Brain finishes:

  1. In your chat with Brain, click the Artifact.
  2. Click End session.

Review a browser session

After the browser session completes, the Artifact displays Browser session ended.

To view a recording of the browser session or an audit log of each step Brain took, open the Artifact's comments:

  1. Open the Artifact.
  2. In the upper-right corner, click the comments icon.

Each of Brain's comments has a thread of replies that lists the steps Brain took in the browser. The session recording is posted as its own comment a few minutes after the run ends.
