You need a microphone. Talk with Brain works on the browser and in the desktop app.
Start a voice conversation with Brain
To start a voice conversation:
- Open Brain from anywhere.
- At the bottom of the Brain sidebar, click the audio icon.
- If your browser asks, allow ClickUp to use your microphone.
- Say your question or request. Brain answers out loud, and the conversation appears in the chat as a live transcript.
You can also start from the AI Hub. In the Ask Brain field, click Continue in voice at the right end.
Follow the conversation
While you talk, Brain shows whether it's listening, thinking, or speaking.
Mute, end, or retry the call
To mute your microphone, click Mute at the bottom of the sidebar. To hang up, click End.
If the call can't start, the call bar reads Couldn't start the call. Use its buttons:
- Try again: Start the call again.
- Voice chat settings: Select Microphone to pick a different microphone.
- Dismiss: Close the call bar.
Find the conversation later
Your voice conversation is saved as a chat.
To reopen it, click AI in your Home Sidebar and select it under Recent Chats.
Talk with Brain and Talk to Text
Talk to Text, the microphone button beside Talk with Brain, turns your voice into text in the prompt field and doesn't answer out loud. Talk with Brain is a two-way conversation.
