Use keyboard shortcuts

Optimize your workflow and save time using keyboard shortcuts.

Different shortcuts work in different places throughout your Workspace. Make sure your cursor is outside of any text fields when pressing a keyboard shortcut.

Keyboard shortcuts are available on every ClickUp Plan to all user roles. Keyboard shortcuts were previously called hotkeys.

Enable keyboard shortcuts

Keyboard shortcuts are disabled by default. They must be enabled in your personal settings.

To enable keyboard shortcuts:

  1. In the upper-right corner, click your personal avatar and select Settings.
  2. Scroll down to the Preferences section.
  3. Enable Keyboard Shortcuts.

  1. In the lower-right corner, click Save changes.

To access all keyboard shortcuts:

  1. In the upper-right corner, click your personal avatar and select Keyboard shortcuts.
  2. Click each category on the left to view the available keyboard shortcuts.

Desktop app shortcuts

From your desktop app settings, there are two desktop-wide keyboard shortcuts you can enable, disable, or change:

  • Create New Task: Press Cmd + E on Mac or Ctrl + E on PC to quickly create a new task from any app on your computer, as long as the ClickUp desktop app is open.
