Send a direct message

There are multiple ways to send direct messages on the mobile app.

From Home

To open direct messages from Home on the mobile app:

1. In the Direct Messages section, tap any direct message to open the conversation. To start a new conversation, tap the plus icon at the top of the section and search for it.
2. Tap Send a message.
3. Type your message or use Talk to Text to transcribe your voice.
4. Tap the send icon.

From a Profile

To open a direct message from a Profile on mobile:

1. Tap someone's avatar to open their Profile.
2. Under their name, tap Message to open the conversation.
3. At the bottom, tap Send to.
4. Type your message or use Talk to Text to transcribe your voice.
5. Tap the send icon.

From the Chats page

To open a direct message from the Chats page on mobile:

1. At the bottom of Home, Inbox, or My Tasks, tap More.
   • If you have recently opened a page from the More menu, the page name is displayed instead of More.
2. Select Chats.
3. Tap any direct message to open the conversation. If you don't see a direct message, use the filters or search bar at the top to find it.
4. At the bottom, tap Send to.
5. Type your message or use Talk to Text to transcribe your voice.
6. Tap the send icon.

From the create button

To send a direct message from the create button on mobile:

1. At the bottom of Home, Inbox, My Tasks, or any page accessible from the More menu, tap the plus icon.

2. Swipe vertically and select Chat message.

   The options available in the create menu vary based on your user role and the ClickApps activated in your Workspace.

3. Search for and select a person or a Team.
4. Tap Send a message.
5. Type your message or use Talk to Text to transcribe your voice.
6. Tap the send icon.

Send a direct message using Talk to Text

When drafting a Chat message on the mobile app, you can use Talk to Text to transcribe your voice.

To use Talk to Text in a Chat message on the mobile app:

1. When drafting your message, tap the Talk to Text icon to start recording your voice.
   
2. When you've finished speaking, tap the checkmark icon. To cancel the recording, tap the x icon.
3. Add the transcription or audio to your draft:
   • To add the transcription of your voice, tap Insert Text.
   • To add the audio recording of your voice, tap Voice Clip.
4. Make any final additions or edits to your draft, then tap the send icon.

Preview direct messages

From Home, tap and hold any direct message to see a preview of your conversation.

When previewing, you'll also see the following options:

• View Profile
• Mark the direct message as read/unread.
• Copy a link to the direct message.
• Favorite/unfavorite the direct message or add it to a custom Home section.
• Hide the conversation.

Schedule messages

Schedule messages to be sent a later time on the mobile app.

View replies to your direct messages

View replies to all of your messages in a conversation on the mobile app.
