Default Home Sidebar sections
Home Sidebar sections are below your pinned Home pages. Not finding what you need? Create a Custom Home Sidebar section!
If you don't see your Home Sidebar, click the expand icon at the top of your Global Navigation.
To see the default sections, ensure your Home Sidebar filters are cleared. The default sections cannot be hidden from the Home Sidebar.
If the Chat ClickApp is not activated in your Workspace, you won't see Channels or direct messages. This includes direct messages with Super Agents.
This table shows the default Home Sidebar sections:
| Default section | Description |
| Favorites | All of your favorited items. This section is only displayed if you have favorited at least one item. |
| Super Agents | Chats with Super Agents. This section is only displayed if you have access to at least one Super Agent. |
| AI Chats | Chats with ClickUp Brain. |
| Channels | Channels you follow. Learn more about how to take action on Channels. |
| Direct Messages | Your direct messages. Learn more about how to take action on direct messages. |
| Spaces | All non-hidden Spaces, their Folders and Subfolders, and their Lists. Learn more about individual Space, Folder, Subfolder, and List settings. |
| Recents | Your recently-viewed Lists, tasks, and Docs. The Recents section is gradually rolling out on the desktop app. |
Items can be in multiple sections at once. For example, if you favorite a Channel, it can be accessed from both the Favorites and Channels sections.

Section settings
Each Home Sidebar default section has a settings menu. To open the section's settings menu, click the ellipsis ... icon next to the section's name.
The available settings vary by section. This table details the default Home Sidebar sections settings menu:
| Setting | Description |
| Mark all as read / Mark as unread | When items are unread, the section name is bolded. Select Mark as read to clear unread items. |
| Add to section | Add this item to another section. |
| Create section | Create a custom Home Sidebar section. |
| Reorder sections | Open the Reorder sections modal where you can drag and drop sections to organize them. You can create a custom section from the Reorder sections modal. You can also drag and drop sections in the Home Sidebar. |
| Browse Channels | This setting is in the Channels section. See all of the Channels in your Workspace that you can access. |
| Browse Super Agents | This setting is in the Super Agents section. Browse all of your Super Agents. |
| Limit | This setting is in the Channels, DMs, AI Chats, Super Agents, and Recents sections. Limit how many items are visible in the section. |
| Show and sort The Show and sort setting is not available for the Spaces section of the Home Sidebar. |
Click to choose to show this category of item: • All items • Unread items • Mentions Only Click to sort the section in one of these ways: • Recents • Alphabetically • Custom |
| Browse people | This setting is in the Direct Messages section. See all of the people in your Workspace. You can filter by people using these settings: • Everyone: All user roles in the Workspace. • Team Members: Members, admins, and owners. • Guests: All guest types and limited members. Limited members have a triangle icon in the lower-right corner of their avatars. |
| Create Space | Create a Space. |
| Manage Spaces | Manage the Spaces you've joined. |
| Show all Spaces | Show all Spaces, including ones you've hidden. |
| Show Archived | Show all archived items. |
