Convert Custom Fields with Custom Field Manager

Need your data in a different format? You can convert specific Custom Fields to different types. Your data will be converted to the new format.

Once you convert a Custom Field, you may not be able to convert it back to the original Custom Field type.

Custom Field Manager is currently in beta. Functionality and pricing may change as we continue to improve this feature. Join the 3.0 waitlist.

What you'll need

  • Owners and admins can access the Custom Field Manager.
  • Members and guests with the Manage Custom Fields Custom Permission can access Custom Field Manager.
  • Custom Field Manager is available on all ClickUp plans.
  • The options to merge and move Custom Fields are available on the Enterprise Plan.

Convert a Custom Field

From the Custom Field Manager:

  1. Click a field to open the editor.
  2. Click the Type dropdown menu and select a new Custom Field type.
  3. Depending on the type of Custom Field you're converting from, some options will be greyed out.

  4. Review the warning modal to understand the impact of converting the Custom Field.
  5. Click Convert Field.
