Tasks availability by plan

Unlimited tasks are available on every ClickUp plan.

Task availability by user role

Tasks are available to all user roles, including guests.

Task privacy and sharing

Tasks can be private or public based on the privacy of the task's List, Folder, or Space.

Tasks can be shared with specific permissions, either set on the task itself, or inherited from the task's List, Folder, or Space.

Tasks can also be publicly shared.

Task performance limits

The following limits are enforced to improve platform performance.

Feature Limit Description
Tasks per List 50,000 tasks

This limit includes:

  • Subtasks.
  • Archived tasks and subtasks.
  • Tasks and subtasks in multiple Lists, which count toward the limit in every List.
Task descriptions 256kb This performance limit was introduced August 2024.
Subtasks 1,000 subtasks

This performance limit was introduced January 2025, and includes nested subtasks.
