Communicate with your team in tasks from anywhere using the mobile app.

What you'll need

• Task comments are available on every ClickUp plan.
• Everyone, including guests, can comment on tasks and subtasks they can access on the mobile app.

• You can only leave threaded comments if the Threaded Comments ClickApp is activated.

Comment on a task

To comment on a task on the mobile app:

1. At the top of the task, tap the Activity tab. 
2. At the bottom, type your comment. When drafting, you can add helpful context with the following features:
   • Photos, files, and rich text editing: Tap the plus icon to access photos, your camera, files, and rich text editing options like headers, quotes, checklists, and more. Tap the x icon to close this menu.
   • Simple text editing: Tap the T icon to access simple text editing options like bold, italic, underline, and more. Tap the back arrows icon to close this menu.
   • Emoji: Tap the emoji icon to add an emoji.
   • @mention: Mention people, tasks, Docs, and more!
   • Assign the comment: Assign the comment to a team member to notify them of an action item.
   • Voice Clip: Record a message and send it with your comment!
   • Attachment: Tap the attachment icon to upload a file to your comment.
   • Indent: Use the indent icons to change the indentation of text.
   • Turn into: Turn the text into a header, code block, banner, and more. Tap the x icon to close this menu.
3. Tap the send icon.

If you don't want to send your comment yet, your draft will be temporarily saved.

Comment on an image, video, or PDF file

Use Proofing to leave comments on images, videos, and PDFs on the mobile app:

1. Tap the comment's attached image, video, or PDF file.
2. In the upper-right corner, tap the comment icon.
3. At the bottom, type your comment and tap the send icon.

Reply to a comment

To reply to a comment on the mobile app:

1. Tap the comment to open the thread.
   • Alternatively, tap and hold the comment, then select Reply in thread.
2. Type your comment and tap the send icon.

Assign a comment

To assign a comment on the mobile app:

1. Tap and hold the comment.
2. Select Assign comment.
3. Search for and select an assignee.

Resolve a comment on the mobile app

To resolve an assigned comment on the mobile app, tap Resolve above the comment.

Interact with comments in ClickUp 4.0

Tap and hold a comment on the mobile app to see the following options in ClickUp 4.0:

• Edit: Edit the comment. Only the comment author can edit it.
• Reply in thread: Reply to the comment.
• Assign comment: Assign the comment to someone.
  
• Save for Later: Review the comment at a later time by adding it to the Later tab in your Inbox.
• Remind me in Inbox: Create a reminder for the comment in your Inbox.
• Forward message: Share the comment to a Channel or direct message.
• Copy link: Copy the URL of the comment to your clipboard.
• Copy text: Copy the comment content to your clipboard.
• Get notified about new replies/Turn off notifications for replies: Decide if you want to be notified of thread replies.
• Delete: Delete the comment. Only the comment author can delete it.

Tap and hold a comment on the mobile app to see the following options in ClickUp 3.0:
