Track time on mobile

Track time on the ClickUp mobile app!

Time tracked on the mobile app syncs with all instances of ClickUp, allowing you to switch between your browser, desktop app, and mobile devices seamlessly. For example, if you start a time entry in the mobile app, you'll see it running when you are back at your computer.

What you'll need

Create a time entry

You can manually create, edit, and delete time entries from your mobile device.

Create an entry from the Quick Action menu

To create a time entry from the Quick Action menu:

  1. In the lower-right corner, tap More.

    The Quick Action menu is not displayed when you have a task open.

  2. Tap Track Time.
  3. To start tracking time or add an entry, select one of the tabs at the top:
    • Timer: Select a task and start a timer.
    • Manual: Select a task, manually enter how much time was tracked, and select the date that the time was tracked.
    • Range: Select a task and enter the exact hours and date that the time was tracked.

      Tasks with recently tracked time are listed in the center of the screen along with the user who created the entry. To continue tracking time on any of these tasks, tap the start button to the left of them.

  4. Users on the Business Plan and above can further customize time entries:
    • Note: Tap the note icon to write a note for your time entry.
    • Label: Tap the label icon to add a time tracking label.
    • Billable: Tap the currency icon to mark the time entry as billable.

  5. In the upper-right corner, tap Done to exit the Time tracker modal.

Create an entry from a task

To create a time entry from a task:

  1. Open a task.
  2. In the upper-right, tap the Time tracker icon.

  3. To start tracking time or add an entry, select one of the tabs at the top:
    • Timer: Select a task and start a timer.
    • Manual: Select a task, manually enter how much time was tracked, and select the date that the time was tracked.
    • Range: Select a task and enter the exact hours and date that the time was tracked.

      Tasks with recently tracked time are listed in the center of the screen along with the user who created the entry. To continue tracking time on any of these tasks, tap the start button to the left of them.

  4. Users on the Business Plan and above can further customize time entries:

  5. In the upper-right corner, tap Done to exit the Time tracker modal.

Edit or delete time entries

Edit existing time entries from the recent history or from a task!

Edit or delete time entries from your recent history

To edit time entries from your recent time tracking history:

  1. In the lower-right corner, tap More.
  2. Select Track Time.
  3. Select a task.
  4. To the right of any time tracking entry, tap the ellipsis ... menu.
  5. To update the entry, edit the details and tap Confirm. To delete the entry, tap Delete Record.

    Deleted time entries can be recovered from the Trash for a short period of time by an admin or owner.

Edit or delete time entries from a task

To edit or delete time entries:

  1. Open a task.
  2. In the upper-right, tap the Time tracker icon.
  3. Tap anyone's name or avatar to expand their time entries.

  4. Tap the ellipsis ... to the right of any entry to edit it.
  5. To update the entry, edit the details and tap Confirm. To delete the entry, tap Delete Record.

Stop a time entry

To stop an active time entry on mobile:

  1. At the top of your screen, tap the banner displaying the task name and timer.
  2. Tap the stop button.
  3. To close the Time tracker modal, tap Done in the upper-right corner.
