Mobile Time Tracking

Track time on the go! Create and edit time entries seamlessly across our Web, Desktop, and Mobile app.

Who can use it?

  • Owners, admins, members, and guests

  • Time Tracking can be restricted from individual guests

  • Time Tracking is available on all plans. Certain features are only available on our Business Plan and above

Time tracking features available on Business Plan and above:

  • Adding a time entry Description

  • Adding Labels to a time entry

  • Marking a time entry as Billable

  • Tracking time not associated with a specific task

Note: To use our Time Tracking features, an owner or admin will need to turn on the Time Tracking ClickApp for the Workspace or Space from their computer.

Continue tracking time across devices and apps

Our time tracking features work throughout ClickUp so matter which devices or apps you're using, you'll see everything in sync, in real time!

If you start a time entry in our Mobile app, you'll see it running when you are back at your computer.

You can start a time entry from your computer, and you'll see the timer running at the top of our Mobile app.

Tap on the banner to stop, or edit the time entry:

Create a time entry

Just like on your computer, you can:

  • Start a timer

  • Manually create a time entry

  • Add a range

  • See recent time entries

From the Quick Action menu

  1. Tap on the Quick Action button in the lower-right cornerScreenshot showing location of the Quick Action menu.

  2. Select Track Time

From a task

  1. Open a task

  2. Hit the Start button to start a timer OR

  3. Tap on track time to add a new time entry

Start a timer

  1. Select a task to track time on
    Note: This is optional for Workspaces on our Business Plan and above

  2. Hit the Start button to start a timer

Manually create a time entry

  1. Select Manual

  2. Enter the amount of time spent

  3. Select a task to track time on

  4. Add time entry details

  5. Click Save

Add a Range

  1. Select Range

  2. Enter the Start time and End time

  3. Select a task to track time on

  4. Add time entry details

  5. Click Save

From time entry history

If you open Time Tracking from the Quick Action button, you'll see a list of tasks with recently added time entries.

  1. Click on the Start button next to a recent time entry to start a new timer with the same details

If you open Time Tracking from a task, you'll see the recent time entries just for that task, organized by which user created the time entry.

Edit time entries

Edit existing time entries from recent time entry history or from a task!

Edit time entries from recent history

  1. Tap on the Quick Action button in the lower-right corner

  2. Select Track Time

  3. Tap on a recent task with time entries to edit them

  4. Tap on the ellipsis to the right of a task to edit an individual time entry

  5. Edit the details and tap Confirm

Edit time entries from a task

  1. Open a task

  2. Tap track time to see recent time entries for that task

  3. Tap on each person to expand their time entries

  4. Tap the ellipsis to the right of a task to edit each time entry

  5. Edit the details and tap Confirm
