Customize Folders with colors to help visually indicate project status or better distinguish your work.
Additionally, Workspace owners and admins can add or edit Folder colors to choose which colors are available across the Workspace and give each color a name.

Folder colors are available on every ClickUp plan.
Everyone, including guests with edit or full permissions, can set Folder colors.
Only Workspace owners or admins can add or edit the available colors.

Set a Folder color in ClickUp 4.0
There are multiple ways to set a Folder color in ClickUp 4.0.
From your Home Sidebar
To set a Folder color from your Home Sidebar:
- In your Global Navigation, click Home.
- In the Spaces section of your Home Sidebar, hover over the Folder and click the ellipsis ... icon.
- Alternatively, right-click the Folder.
- Select Folder color.
- Select, add, edit, or remove colors.
From the Spaces Sidebar
To set a Folder color from the Spaces Sidebar:
- In your Global Navigation, click Spaces.
- If you don't see the item in your Global Navigation, click More and select it.
- To keep the item visible in your Global Navigation, pin it.
- In the Spaces Sidebar, hover over the Folder and click the ellipsis ... icon.
- Alternatively, right-click the Folder.
- Select Folder color.
- Select, add, edit, or remove colors.
Set a Folder color in ClickUp 3.0
In ClickUp 3.0, you can set a Folder color from the Sidebar:
- In the Sidebar, hover over the Folder and click the ellipsis ... icon.
- Alternatively, right-click the Folder.
- Select Folder color.
