Sync ClickUp activity with Slack channels

Using the integration with Slack, you can receive activity messages about new ClickUp tasks, status changes, new comments, new attachments, or assignee changes without ever leaving Slack.

This article is about syncing ClickUp activity with Slack channels. To choose which ClickUp actions trigger Slack notifications, read our Notifications settings article.

What you'll need

  • The integration with Slack is available on every ClickUp plan.
  • Guests can't enable Slack activity messages.
  • The integration with Slack must be enabled before Slack activity messages can be enabled.
  • You can only integrate one Slack workspace with ClickUp at a time.
  • There is no limit to the number of Slack activity messages you can set up. If multiple people in your Workspace set up the same activity messages, you won't see duplicates.

Tasks in multiple Lists will only create Slack activity messages if their home List is included in the selected location.

You can create a separate #clickup channel in Slack for these updates.

Give ClickUp access to private Slack channels

Before you can select a private Slack channel for activity messages, you must give ClickUp access to the channel.

To give ClickUp access to a private Slack channel:

  1. Right-click the Slack channel and click View channel details.
  2. Click the Integrations tab.

  3. Select Add an App.
  4. Search for ClickUp.
  5. Click Add.

The channels that appear when creating Slack notifications are determined by which ClickUp user set up the integration. All Slack channels that the user is a member of will appear.
