Intro to Time Estimates

The Time Estimates ClickApp allows you to set how long individual tasks are going to take, so you can make decisions and see how much time your project should take!

For large tasks with multiple assignees, you can set different Time Estimates for each person.

What you'll need

  • Time Estimates are available on all ClickUp Plans.

  • Setting Time Estimates per assignee is available on the Business Plan and above.

  • Everyone, including guests, can use Time Estimates if a Workspace owner or admin has given them permission.

Enable the Time Estimates ClickApp

Workspace owners and admins can enable the Time Estimates ClickApp at the Workspace level or for individual Spaces.

Enable Time Estimates for your Workspace

Enable the Time Estimates ClickApp from your Workspace settings.

  1. In the upper-left corner, lick your Workspace avatar.

  2. Select Apps, then ClickApps.

  3. Browse or search for the Time Estimates ClickApp.

  4. Click the Time Estimates ClickApp to enable it on all Spaces.

  5. Uncheck any Spaces that do not use Time Estimates.

Enable Time Estimates for individual Spaces

You can also enable the Time Estimates ClickApp for an individual Space.

  1. In the expanded Sidebar to the right of the Space, click the ellipsis ... icon.

  2. Click Space settings, then ClickApps.

  3. Select Time Estimates.

  4. Click Save to enable Time Estimates for the Space.

View Time Estimates

See the amount of time you and your team think each task is going to take! You can view Time Estimates on individual tasks, using views, and on a few helpful Dashboard cards.

Set Time Estimates

Add an estimate of how long a task will take. You can add Time Estimates from tasks and views.

Customize Time Estimates

Display Time Estimates in hours and customize how many hours your team has available each day.

Set Time Estimates per assignee

When a task is big enough to need more than one assignee, you can set a different Time Estimate for each individual person.

Time Estimates Rollup

Set tasks to show the sum of all time estimates on its subtasks plus any time estimated on the task itself.

When you have a large task with lots of subtasks that have time estimates, you'll see the total at a glance.
