To use Super Agents, you'll need to use ClickUp 4.0 and activate the AI ClickApp for your Workspace.

If you want to interact with Super Agents via Chat, you'll need to activate the Chat ClickApp.

Agent types

There are two types of Agents:

  • Super Agents are AI-powered teammates that adapt to your Workspace with intelligence and human-like interactions. They can be created from the AI Hub.
  • Autopilot Agents perform actions based on defined triggers and conditions. They are created via Automations in Chat Channels, Spaces, Folders, and Lists.

Chat triggers for Super Agents

There are several triggers you can choose from when you're creating a Super Agent. The following Chat-related triggers are available for Super Agents:

  • @mention: @mention the Super Agent in any Chat message to trigger it.
  • Direct Message: Send a direct message to the Super Agent to trigger it.

Launch your Super Agent in Chat via Automation

You can also create a Chat Channel Automation that launches your Super Agent when a message is posted.

Chat triggers for Autopilot Agents

There are several triggers you can choose from when you're creating an Autopilot Agent. The following Chat-related triggers are available for Autopilot Agents:

  • Message is posted: When a message is posted in this Chat Channel, the Autopilot Agent posts a message in a thread.

Chat AI tools

ClickUp AI tools enable ClickUp AI and Super Agents to perform different jobs for you. The following Chat-related tools can be used:

  • Post Chat message: Send messages to Chat Channels.
  • Update Chat message: Update or assign one of your existing Chat messages.
  • Catch me up: Get a summary of what's happened in the Chat Channel. 
  • Reply to thread: Reply to a Chat message thread.

Ambient answers

Ambient Answers is a prebuilt Autopilot Agent that answers Chat questions. Ambient Answers can be activated in any Channel.
