Take notes on the mobile app

Use Notepad on the mobile app to quickly store notes, grocery lists, or anything else you need to remember!

You can quickly turn your notes into actions items by converting them to tasks on the mobile app.

What you'll need

  • Notepad is available on every ClickUp plan.
  • Everyone, including guests, can use Notepad.
  • Your Notepad is accessible from all of your Workspaces.
  • Notes are private, so no one else in your Workspace can see them.

Open Notepad on the mobile app in ClickUp 4.0

There are multiple ways to open Notepad in ClickUp 4.0.

From the create button

To open your notes from the create button on the mobile app:

  1. At the bottom of Home, Inbox, My Tasks, or any page accessible from the More menu, tap the plus icon.
  2. Select Note or Notepad.

From the More menu

To open your notes from the More menu on the mobile app:

  1. In the lower-right corner of Home, Inbox, or My Tasks, tap More.
    • If you have recently opened a page from the More menu, the page name is displayed instead of More.
  2. Select Notepad.

To open your notes on the mobile app in ClickUp 3.0:

  1. At the bottom of Home, Chat, Inbox, or My Work, tap Create.
  2. Select Note.

Create a note

To create a note on the mobile app:

  1. At the bottom of Notepad, tap New note.
  2. Name the note. By default, the name will be the current date.
  3. In the upper-right corner, tap Create.
  4. In the lower-right corner, tap the edit icon.
  5. Tap anywhere on the note to start typing.
  6. When you're done, tap the checkmark icon in the upper-left corner.

You can use rich text formatting in your notes!

Rename, convert, or delete notes on the mobile app

You can rename, convert, archive, or delete notes from Notepad by tapping and holding them.

Deleted notes cannot be recovered.

Convert notes to tasks on the mobile app

To convert a note to a task from Notepad on the mobile app:

  1. Tap and hold on the note.
  2. Select Convert.
  3. Search for and select a List.
  4. In the upper-right, tap Done.
  5. Choose to delete, archive, or take no action on the note. Deleted notes cannot be recovered.

Search and sort notes on the mobile app

Quickly locate notes by searching or sorting them in Notepad.

Search Notepad

To search for a note on the mobile app:

  1. At the top of Notepad, tap the search icon.
  2. Type the name of the note. Results filter automatically.

Sort notes

By default, notes are sorted by recency.

You can sort tasks alphabetically or access your archived tasks by tapping the alphabetical or archived icons in the upper-right corner of Notepad.
