You can rename and update the details of your Custom Fields to meet your team's needs.
What you'll need
- 100 uses of Custom Fields are available on the Free Forever Plan.

Unlimited uses are available on all paid Plans.

Individual Custom Fields can be hidden from all guests.
Edit Custom Fields
You can update Custom Fields from tasks, the Sidebar, and views. The details you can edit will vary by Custom Field type.
From a task and the Sidebar you can also manage your Custom Fields including:

Pin a Custom Field to ensure it's always shown on tasks.
Edit Custom Fields from a task
To edit Custom Fields from a task:

Open a task.

Click + Add or edit fields to open the Custom Fields manager.

Hover over a Custom Field in the list and click the edit icon.

Update the Custom Field details.

Click Save.

Edit Custom Fields from the Sidebar
To edit Custom Fields from the Sidebar:

Click the Space, Folder, or List settings ellipsis ... icon.

Select More.
-
Click Custom Fields.
-
Hover over a Custom Field in the list and click the edit icon.

Update the Custom Field details.
-
Click Save.
Edit Custom Fields from a List or Table view
There are two ways to edit Custom Fields from views:

From a Custom Field's column menu.
-
Or, when adding existing Custom Fields to your view.
You can edit the following options from the Custom Field column menu:

Hide column: Remove it from the view.

Duplicate: Create a copy of the Custom Field in the List, Folder, Space or Workspace

Delete: Delete the Custom Field from the location or from your entire Workspace
To edit a Custom Field from the column menu:

Open any List or Table view.

Click on a Custom Field's column heading.
Tip: You can quickly rename the Custom Field from the top of the column menu. Changes will apply to the Custom Field throughout your Workspace. -
Click Edit field.

Update the field details.
-
Click Save.

When adding existing Custom Fields to a view

Open any List or Table view in your Workspace

For a List view:

Click the + icon or
-
Click Show then Columns
-

Or you can add columns to a Table view one of three ways:

Click the + icon or

Click the Columns button or
-
Click Show then Columns

Click use field from library
-
Hover over a Custom Field.

Click the Edit button.
-
Update the field details.
-
Click Save.

Pin Custom Fields
You can Pin a Custom Field which ensure it's always visible on tasks wherever that Custom Field is used throughout your Workspace.
You can pin Custom Fields from tasks or the Sidebar.
From a task:

Click + Add or edit fields to open the Custom Fields manager.

Hover over a Custom Field in the list and click the pin icon.

Your Custom Field will be pinned and always shown on tasks.
From the Sidebar:

Click the Space, Folder, or List settings ellipsis ... icon.

Select More.
-
Click Custom Fields.

Hover over a Custom Field in the list and click the pin icon.

Your Custom Field will be pinned and always shown on tasks.
Remove Custom Fields
You can remove a Custom Field from a location without deleting it from your entire Workspace.
Removing a Custom Field that only exists in one location will send it to the Trash. Restoring a deleted Custom Field from Trash restores it to any location where that Custom Field previously existed. Any data stored in the Custom Field is also restored.
To remove a Custom Field:
- Open the Space, Folder, or List you want to remove the Custom Field from.
- Open a List view.
- If the Custom Field is shown as a column, click it. If not, add it.
- Click the Custom Field column header.
- Select Remove from Space/Folder/List.
Delete Custom Fields
To delete Custom Fields from your Workspace:

Open the Custom Field editor from any location described above.

Click Delete Custom Field.

The Custom Field will be sent to the Trash.
Deleting a Custom Field that was created at the Workspace level will remove the Custom Field from the entire Workspace.
