Move tasks and subtasks to Lists from another List. You can also use the Bulk Action Toolbar to add or move multiple tasks.
For example, you could build a project plan in a single List. Then move tasks into separate Lists to represent each project phase. Or move tasks that belong to other teams into their Lists.
What you'll need
- You can move tasks on any plan.
- Guests with full permissions can move tasks between Lists that have been shared with them.
- To add tasks to Sprints while retaining their original locations, an admin or owner must first enable the Tasks in Multiple Lists ClickApp.
Add or move
Following is the difference between adding and moving a task:
- Add: The task is put into another List and kept in its original List. This task is in multiple Lists.
- Move: The task is put into another List and removed from its original Sprint.
Different List statuses
When you move a task to a List with different statuses, we'll ask you how you want to update your task's statuses.
You can:
- Map each status from your task and its subtasks to statuses from the new List.
- Change all of your task and its subtasks' statuses to one status from the new List
Move a task from a view
To move a task from a view:
- From a view, click the task's ellipsis ... icon.
- From the menu, select Move.
- Search or browse to select a List.
- To add the task to another List, in the lower-left corner click the Move and keep in current List checkbox.
- The task is moved to the new location.
Move a task from an open task
To move a task from an open task:
- From an open task, click the Move icon in the upper-left corner.
- Alternatively, click the ellipsis ... icon in the upper-right corner and select Move.
- Search for and select a new List.
- Search or browse to select a List.
- The task is moved to the new location.
Move tasks in bulk
To move tasks in bulk using the Bulk Action Toolbar:
- To open the Bulk Action Toolbar, hover over a task in a view and click the selector button on the left.
Press and hold
Shiftto select multiple consecutive tasks.
- At the bottom of the screen in the Bulk Action Toolbar click Move/Add.
- From the Move Add modal, select the Move tasks tab.
- Search or browse to select a List.
- The task is moved to the new location.
Different Custom Fields
When you move a task, we'll ask what you want to do with the Custom Fields in your task's current List that don't exist in the destination List.
You can:
- Add all Custom Fields to the new List by clicking Select all.
- Add individual Custom Fields to the new List by clicking each field's toggle.
- Don't add any Custom Fields to the new location by clicking Do nothing.
