Organize and efficiently reply to your task, image, and Doc comments.

Nest your replies with the threaded comments ClickApp. Quickly quote a specific part of a previous comment. Or reply to task comments with ClickUp AI.

Add a threaded comment

To add a threaded comment: 

  1. Locate a comment in a task's activity.

  2. Click Reply

  3. Add your comment.

    • You'll only be notified about activity on threads you are part of. When you're mentioned in or assigned a comment, you're part of that thread.

    • Unread threads appear in the threaded comments icon in the task.

    • If you don't want to use threaded comments, turn off the ClickApp.

Turning off threaded comments will hide any previously threaded comments until the ClickApp is turned back on. 

Add a Watcher to a comment thread 

You can also add Watchers to task comment threads to be notified of any new comments or reactions. 

To add a watcher to a comment thread: 

  1. Open the Activity tab on any task. 
  2. Click Reply on any comment to open its thread. 
  3. Click the Watcher button in the upper right. 
  4. Click an avatar to select yourself, another person, or a Team.
  5. The thread watcher's avatar is highlighted.
  6. The thread watcher will be sent thread updates in their notifications.

Quote a comment

Highlight text to address specific parts of a comment! This is especially useful if someone asks you multiple questions in a comment or there's lots of activity in your task.

  1. Open a task. 

  2. Highlight the text you want to reply to. 

  3. Click Quote

  4. Add your comment. 

    • The text you are replying to will be included as a quote in your comment.

    • The person you are replying to will be tagged.

Reply to task a comment with a Clip

You can reply to a task comment with an audio or video clip. 

To use Clip:

  1. From an open task comment, click the camera or microphone icon. 
  2. Record the Clip
