What you'll need

You can archive Folders, Subfolders, and Lists on all plans.
- Archived Folders, Subfolders, and Lists do not count toward your plan's limits. Take a look at Folder, Subfolder, and List limits on our pricing page.
- Guests with edit or full permissions can archive Folders, Subfolders, and Lists.
- Only Workspace owners or admins can unarchive Folders, Subfolders, and Lists.
Archive a Folder, Subfolder, or List
Archived Folders, Subfolders, and Lists aren't visible in your Home Sidebar or the Spaces Sidebar, but all items in the location are preserved and searchable.
Changes made to archived tasks will still trigger notifications for all followers. To stop receiving notifications, you can delete the task or remove yourself as a follower.
There are multiple ways to archive Folders, Subfolders, and Lists.
Using your Home Sidebar
To archive a Folder, Subfolder, or List using your Home Sidebar:
- In your Global Navigation, click Home.
- In the Spaces section of your Home Sidebar, hover over the Folder, Subfolder, or List and click the ellipsis ... icon.
- Alternatively, right-click the Folder, Subfolder, or List.
- Select Archive.
- Your Folder, Subfolder, or List can be restored at any time.
Using the Spaces Sidebar
To archive a Folder, Subfolder, or List using the Spaces Sidebar:
- In your Global Navigation, click Spaces.
- If you don't see the item in your Global Navigation, click More and select it.
- To keep the item visible in your Global Navigation, pin it.
- In the Spaces Sidebar, hover over the Folder, Subfolder, or List and click the ellipsis ... icon.
- Alternatively, right-click the Folder, Subfolder, or List.
- Select Archive.
- Your Folder, Subfolder, or List can be restored at any time.
Show or restore archived Folders, Subfolders, or Lists
You can temporarily show or restore archived Folders, Subfolders, or Lists to your Home or Spaces Sidebar. This is helpful if you need to look at an item in the Folder, Subfolder, or List, or to use it to create a template.
There are multiple ways to temporarily show or restore archived Folders, Subfolders, and Lists.
From your Home Sidebar
To temporarily show or restore archived Folders, Subfolders, or Lists from your Home Sidebar:
- In your Global Navigation, click Home.
- Hover over the Spaces section in your Home Sidebar and click the ellipsis ... icon.
- Enable Show archived.
- Archived Spaces, Folders, Subfolders, and Lists, and their items will be displayed. Archived Spaces are italicized and have an archived icon next to them.
- To restore the archived location, hover over it and click the restore icon.
From the Spaces Sidebar
To temporarily show or restore archived Folders, Subfolders, and Lists from the Spaces Sidebar:
- In your Global Navigation, click Spaces.
- If you don't see the item in your Global Navigation, click More and select it.
- To keep the item visible in your Global Navigation, pin it.
- Hover over the Spaces Sidebar and click the ellipsis ... icon at the top.
- Enable Show archived.
- Archived Spaces, Folders, Subfolders, and Lists, and their items will be displayed. Archived Spaces are italicized and have an archived icon next to them.
- To restore the archived location, hover over it and click the restore icon.
Delete an archived Folder, Subfolder, or List
There are multiple ways to delete an archived Folder, Subfolder, or List.
Using your Home Sidebar
To delete an archived Folder, Subfolder, or List using your Home Sidebar:
- Follow the steps in this article to temporarily show archived items.
- In the Spaces section of your Home Sidebar, hover over the archived Folder, Subfolder, or List and click the x icon.
- To confirm the permanent deletion, click Delete.
Using the Spaces Sidebar
To delete an archived Folder, Subfolder, or List using the Spaces Sidebar:
- Follow the steps in this article to temporarily show archived items.
- Hover over the archived Folder, Subfolder, or List in the Spaces Sidebar and click the x icon.
- To confirm the permanent deletion, click Delete.
Recover a deleted Folder, Subfolder, or List
Workspace owners and admins can recover deleted Folders, Subfolders, or Lists from the Trash within 30 days of deletion.
Additionally, members who both created and deleted a Folder, Subfolder, or List can recover it within 30 days.
