Task layout options
There are three task layouts available for tasks:
- Default
- Full screen
- Sidebar
Default task layout
In the default layout, tasks fill the majority of the page. The sidebar is displayed to the left of the task.
You can drag the divider to expand either the task description or the Activity section.
Full screen
In the fullscreen layout, the task fills the page. The sidebar is hidden behind the task.

Sidebar
In the sidebar layout, a narrow view of your tasks displays on the right side of the screen.
The sidebar will stay open while you navigate to other locations in your Workspace, like Docs, Home, Calendar, or views.
In Sidebar layout, you can see one section of the task at at time using the tabs on the right.
Options include:
- Details: Shows task fields and the description, subtasks, Custom Fields, and Action items.
- Activity: Shows task activity, comments, and emails.
- Relationships: Shows related and linked items.
- Integrations: See and interact with other apps.
When you open another existing task while in the sidebar layout, the current task closes and the other task opens in the sidebar layout.
Switch between task layouts
To switch between task layouts, use the Switch layout button.
- Open a task
- In the upper-right corner, click the Switch Layout button.
- Choose a task layout.
